Burgers are a family favourite, but they aren’t always the most-healthy choice. Try a lower-fat take on a classic with our turkey burgers recipe.
Turkey is a great alternative to beef, as it’s generally lower in saturated fat — which makes it a great choice for heart health and energy balance.
We made our burgers hot and spicy, but you can leave the jalapenos out if you prefer it mild.
Serve in a wholemeal bun with your favourite burger toppings…are you a gherkins or no gherkins kind of person?
Ingredients
500g 2% fat turkey breast mince
2 cloves garlic
½ red onion
1 tbsp sliced jalapenos (more if you like it spicy)
100g light feta cheese
½ tsp paprika
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
½ tsp cumin
Few sprays of spray oil
Method
Crush the garlic, finely dice the onion and jalapenos and crumble the feta cheese.
Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix together well. If you have time, cover and leave to marinade in the fridge — or you can use the mix straight away.
Split into 6 equal pieces and form into patties.
Heat a frying pan and spray with oil.
Cook burgers for 10 minutes, turning halfway through
