Type 2 Diabetes support with Be Healthy Bucks – we work with different organisations to deliver support, so that you can choose which one is right for you.

Learning about your condition, understanding the risk and making better changes can lead you to a happy and healthy life.


Pre-Diabetes or Non-Diabetic Hyperglycaemia (NDH)

The Healthier You: NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP) aims to help you reduce your risk of progressing to Type 2 Diabetes and complications associated with it.

The programme will improve your knowledge and confidence to make better lifestyle choices, helping you with:

  • A healthier diet
  • Better exercise
  • Emotional wellbeing and ways to manage stress
  • Weight management.

You can either attend face-to-face group sessions in your local area or one-to-one health coaching through a free app.


Type 2 Diabetes

If you have Type 2 Diabetes, there is support available to help you keep it under control. Be Healthy Bucks can give you access to:

  1. Life and Health — a small, group session held in a venue local to you
  2. Supporting Diabetes — a bespoke, remote course delivered one-to-one by phone or app

Alternatively, you can register for Healthy Living: a free, online NHS programme.

It includes information and advice about:

  • Eating well
  • Becoming more active
  • How to look after your body and mind
  • Other NHS services and support
  • Living with diabetes, including driving, working and travelling.

You can use the Healthy Living programme whenever suits you, at your own pace, and for as long as you need. It can also be used alongside any other diabetes programmes or education you may be taking part in.
